The Wildcrafting Apprenticeship Program is a one year program covering all aspects of plant identification, gathering and harvest, storage, saving, uses, crafts, sustainability, Gov't regulations, organics and more!
Each module is designed for maximum learning and information through a combination of hands-on activity and lectures-homework
...from plant walks in bogs, meadows, fields, woods etc to making tea..drying plants..identification of rare species(recording),making tinctures,poultices..cooking and baking..craft items..willow work...histories..aboriginal medicine wheel..special guests and more..
Praticipants will network and receive resource lists..books..mags.. and contacts for future projects and endeavours.
** It is important to note that this program may include treks through mud, where bees live, in rooted and wet areas..and on hot or cold days..in other words it is not an afternoon tea party..or ladies's sketch afternoon although those are fabulous also!
AND.... later in the program we may have tea that we have gathered and made ourselves with
fireweed-violet muffins of our own creation!! :) :) mmmmmmmmm
Certification is received upon completion.
Participants can take or all modules and JOIN AT ANY TIME!
Modules are aprox. once a month in Summer and fall and then as season dictates.
